The Law Office of Sean P. Costello

Sean P. Costello

My name is Sean Costello. Here's a little bit about me.

I graduated cum laude with a degree in Finance from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1994, and  attended law school at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio, where I was the Executive Editor of the Law Review and graduated magna cum laude in 1997.  Upon graduation, I clerked for a federal judge in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1999, I began working as an attorney at one of the largest law firms in the world, Jones Day, first in Cleveland, Ohio, and then in Atlanta, Georgia. I was a litigator there for 10 years, representing big companies in big cases. After that, I moved to Columbus, Ohio, to work as an "in house" lawyer for one of the nation's largest insurance companies, handling their class action and complex litigation for nearly 5 years.

I have handled cases as far west as San Francisco and as far south as Cameron Parish, Louisiana.  I have litigated product liability cases, represented individuals in SEC and other government investigations, and managed billion-dollar class actions. I have written nearly two dozen articles on legal issues and frequently speak on complex legal issues.  I am admitted to practice in Ohio (1997), Georgia (2005), and several federal courts.

After representing large companies for many years, I set out on my own to do what motivated me to become a lawyer in the first place: Helping real people and small businesses solve their real-world legal challenges.   Whether it's preparing a will or litigating a business case, quality legal work does not have to be budget-busting work.  For many things, like preparing wills, I charge a reasonable fixed price.  For other matters, I have a toolbox filled with payment alternatives to fit your budget and situation. To me, there's no such thing as a "small job."  If I am working on a legal matter for you, it is the most important thing I am doing, and you are my number one client.  If you have been ignoring a legal issue, putting off planning your estate, or have resorted to cut-and-paste or "do-it-yourself" legal forms, because you think you can't afford quality legal services, pick up the phone, send me an email, or use the contact form on this website and I'd be happy to have a free and confidential discussion about how I might be able to help you.

On the personal side, I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have a beautiful daughter.  In my spare time, I like to swim, bike, run, and enjoy competing in triathlons, including Ironman events. If there's any time left over, I play a little guitar. I'm passionate about family, fitness, music, and the law.
